Why I started TeentoMD

I’m the founder of Teen to MD, a platform dedicated to empowering the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and future medical professionals. As a high school student with a deep-rooted passion for science, medicine, and purposeful impact, I created this space to bridge the gap between curiosity and career, between teenage ambition and real-world achievement.

At Teen to MD, our mission is to equip teens with the insight, discipline, and resilience needed to pursue meaningful futures in health, science, and beyond. We believe that hope begins with knowledge, and that every student, regardless of background, deserves access to the tools that shape not just academic success, but also personal well-being and emotional intelligence.

Through this blog, I share research-backed resources, science explainers, study strategies, and reflections on mental health, motivation, and identity. Everything I write comes from a place of honesty and ambition, tailored for students who are serious about building a life of purpose, service, and strength.

Whether you're navigating high school, preparing for pre-med, or simply seeking clarity in a complex world, Teen to MD is here to grow with you.

Education

I have been attending Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) since elementary school. During my time, I have won several academic awards and recognitions. In eighth grade, I was nominated to give the graduation speech for my class. I am currently in ninth grade and take 2 honors classes, Algebra 2 Honors and Biology Honors, which is the most I can take this year. In sixth grade, I was recognized for my acceleration in math and was able to jump a grade level in math, which is why I am taking Algebra 2 honors this year.

Volunteering

In the summer of 2025, I got the chance to volunteer at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital located in Newberry, South Carolina. This was a very formative experience for me, and I was able to gain valuable on what it was like to work in a hospital. I explored the different departments and learned how they are all interconnected. I got to work in 2 departments: diagnostic imaging and inpatient care. In diagnostic imaging, I worked with a radiologist and learned about all of the different types of scanning machines and their purposes. Additionally, I was able to assist the radiologic tech with a few patients. When working in inpatient care, I was with one of the nurses, and we completed 2 rounds of checking in on patients. During this time, I learned how to take vitals of patients, which include measuring heart rate, checking blood pressure and taking temperature.
