TeentoMD: A Teen’s Journey to Becoming a Heart Surgeon
MINDSET

Hi, I’m Preetiggah (pronounced PREE-tih-gah, she/her), and I’m 14 years old. I live in Greenville, South Carolina, and I’m about to start 9th grade this fall.
I’ve wanted to become a heart surgeon for as long as I can remember. Not because someone told me to, but because I’m genuinely curious about the human heart, how it works, how it fails, and how doctors can fix it.
I remember one time in 5th grade, I saw a heart diagram in a science textbook and couldn’t stop looking at it. It was complicated, but something about it made me want to learn more. That was the moment I knew I didn’t just want to study science, I wanted to understand life.
But chasing a dream like this as a student can feel confusing. Sometimes it’s overwhelming to figure out which classes to take, how to prepare for the SAT, or what colleges expect. I kept looking for blogs written by students like me, but I didn’t find one.
So I started TeentoMD.
This blog is where I’ll share my real journey to becoming a doctor, what I’m learning, what I’m trying, and what’s working for me. I’ll keep it honest and helpful, and everything I write will be from my own experience.
This blog is for:
Students who aspire to be doctors
Readers who want quick info can skim
Readers who want deeper, more detailed posts
Anyone figuring out school, goals, and life at the same time
There’s no one way to reach your goal, and I don’t think there should be. I believe we all have our own paths, and we should leave a footprint that’s personal and real. If you’re someone who’s dreaming big, learning along the way, or just trying to make sense of it all, I hope this blog gives you something you need.
What’s a dream you’re working on right now?
Leave a comment or message me. I’d love to hear it.
